Google updates its Page Layout algorithm
Matt Cutts, the head of Goggle's webspam team, has announced that Google has released an update for its Page Layout algorithm.
The filter is supposed to downgrade web pages with an excess of ads at the top or in case the ads are too distracting from website content.
The algorithm monitors the ratio of ads to content that users see when they open a website.
These measures were prompted by a lot of complaints received by Google. The complaints concerned the difficulty of finding necessary information right after clicking on a website because there were a lot of ads at the top of the page and users had to scroll down to find what they needed.
